Naming, Branding, and Marketing: Music festivals play a big part in defining pop culture. So, we were honored by this opportunity. The challenge? Create a name and brand that celebrated American’s deep spiritual connection to music. Though this process, we started focusing on African American slave music, but soon realized this American spiritual connection started with the Choctaw Indian tribe. Coincidentally, the founder of the music festival is of Choctaw decent, and the festival is premiering in Guthrie, Oklahoma. TALOA means “To sing” or “Song.” From there, we collaborated with internationally acclaimed designer, Mauricio Cremer, to establish a timeless and potentially iconic brand.
